Ristiina

Ristiina (Kristina in Swedish) is a municipality of Finland. The town was founded in 1649 and it was named after named after Kristina Stenbock, the wife of Governor General and Count Per Brahe.
It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the Southern Savonia region. The municipality has a population of 5,111 (2003) and covers an area of 742.11 kmē of which 168.47 kmē is water. The population density is 8.9 inhabitants per kmē.
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
