Reuben

There are several people or things called Reuben:
- Reuben is the first-born son of Jacob and the founder of the Tribe of Reuben mentioned in the Book of Genesis. Re'u-ven means "behold a son" in Hebrew, and he was so named because his mother Leah was hoping that by presenting him to Jacob she would overcome Jacob's preference for his second wife, her younger sister Rachel.
- Reuben James (c. 1776 - 3 December 1838) was a Boatswain's Mate of the United States Navy, famous for his heroism in the Barbary Wars; three ships have borne his name.
- Reuben is an uncommon, but not rare, given name amongst English-speaking peoples. It may be abbreviated to Reubie or Ruby.
- The Reuben or Reuben sandwich is corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and russian or thousand island dressing on rye bread.
- Reuben are a British alternative rock band, from Surrey.
