RTV Pink is a TV network based in Serbia with stations in several nearby countries.
Its TV stations in Serbia and Montenegro include:
- Pink (currently the most popular tv station in Serbia)
- Pink Plus
- Pink Extra
- Pink M (Montenegro)
- Pink BH (Bosnia-Hercegovina)
There's also Radio Pink in Belgrade, as well as "Pink Plus Package" - digital tv platform.
The controlling company is called "RTV Pink International" and is owned by one Željko Mitrović, who was previously a member of JUL - the party of Milosevic's wife - Mira Markovic. He left the party in September 2000.
From the very beginning Tv Pink offers a light entertaiment program ("Opium for the masses"), mostly a compilation of US movies, cheap latin soa p operas and talk-shows. All Pink's channel promoted very strong turbo folk music, therein Ceca, who was the wife of Arkan - mafia boss and war profiteer. During Milosevic's era there was no news or political programs - now Tv Pink presents sensational and offen preconceived news service.
The television acquired much of the equipment from the national RTS TV network without paying for it.
After Milosevic's era it was thought, that the company would be closed down soon, but Tv Pink turned into the most pro-government station very quick and today is sure to become one of the nationalwide broadcast licences.
