Poliahu
|
In Polynesian mythology (specifically: Hawaii), Poliahu is a goddess of snow who resides on Mauna Kea, the world's tallest mountain. She is possibly the most beautiful of the Hawaiian goddesses, and her skill at stealing Pele's suitors has made them bitter enemies. During one jealous fight, Poliahu was responsible for permanently quenching the fires of Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano.
