Peter Folger

Peter Folger (1905-1980) was a long time Chairman of the board and President at Folgers Coffee, and the great-grandson of founder J.A. Folger. He was also the father of Abigail Folger, a victim of the Charles Manson murders.
Born and raised in California, Folger studied and graduated from Yale University and later served in World War II as a Marine Major.
He married twice in his life. The first being to Inez Mejia, the daughter of a prestigious California land grant family. In 1952 Peter and Inez were divorced after his wife filed for an end to their marriage under the grounds of extreme cruelty. Together they had one child, Abigail Anne Folger, born in 1943. He married his 34 year old private secretary Beverly, in 1960.
Folger died at the age of 75 in 1980 and was buried in the Folger family plot in California.
