Students are nomitated by teachers or educators, but very few nominees are selected to attend the conferences. Although some trips are overseas, high school students are also able to attend a university and take specific classes suited to their interests. For the summer 2005 trip, students can choose between UCLA, Georgetown, or University of Denver. Interjected into these ten-day courses are field trips. At Georgetown, to the Smithsonian, monuments of DC, International Spy Museum, and Capitol Hill. University of Denver offers whitewater rafting on Cache la Poudre River, hiking in the Rocky Mountains, and exlporing life on area college campuses and nearby ranches, while UCLA boasts a trip to Disneyland and California's beaches, looking for stars along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and a trip to the J. Paul Getty Museum. The trips are highly educational and provide students with resources to explore the world around them as well as their individual potential.
