Overdrive
|
Overdrive can mean any of the following:
- OverDrive processors were Intel x86 CPUs specifically designed with the upgrading of obsolescent computers in mind. See: Intel 80486 OverDrive, Pentium OverDrive
- An overdrive transmission in automotive and mechanical engineering is a form of gearbox and transmission with a gear ratio that causes the driven wheels to rotate at a higher Rpm than the engine, at a low torque. The advantage is a higher MPG ratio. An overdrive is sometimes also (mistakenly) called a freewheel.
- An overdriven guitar amplifier.
