Ostrobothnia (region)

Ostrobothnia is one of Finland's 20 regions (fi: maakunta/sv: landskap). It is located in Central Finland. It borders to the regions Central Ostrobothnia, Southern Ostrobothnia, and Satakunta. It is one of the two regions in Finland in which Swedish speakers make up the majority of the population (53%). The regional tree is the Black Alder (Alnus glutinosa), the regional mammal is the Common Elk (Alces alces alces), the regional stone is the Vaasa granite and the regional song is "The march of Vaasa" (sv: Vasa marsch).
