Osco

Osco Drug is a chain/pharmacy merged with Jewel Tea and owned by Albertsons. Osco was founded in 1915 by S.M. Skaggs in American Falls, Idaho as a cash and carry store. His son L.L. Skaggs founded the Pay-Less chain in 1937 in Rochester, Minnesota. In 1942, these chains merged with others and formed the Owners Service Company, shortened to OSCO.
Osco Drug then became part of a nationwide chain of retail stores known as American Stores. In 1999 Osco and its sister company Jewel were purchased by Albertson.
Other stores merged with Albertson are: Osco, Sav-On, Max Foods, Jewel, Acme, Seessel's, Shaw's and Star Markets.
