Orange Prize for Fiction

Launched in 1996 for female writers, the prestigious Orange Prize for Fiction is the United Kingdom's largest annual literary award for a single novel. The prize is open to any full-length novel published in the UK in the preceding year, by a woman of any nationality writing in English. The winner of the Orange Prize for Fiction receives £30,000, along with a bronze sculpture called the "Bessie" created by artist Grizel Niven.
