OpenNAP
|
OpenNAP is a piece of free software that replicates the functionality of the once-popular Napster peer-to-peer filesharing server. OpenNAP uses a free Napster-like protocol with extended functionality, is released under the GNU General Public License, and runs under Unix-like operating systems, such as Linux, Mac OS X, and under Windows NT and Windows 2000.
The OpenNAP project is hosted at SourceForge (Note: This site has not been updated since November 15, 2001.).
There is a newer version called opennap-ng; SlavaNap is an alternative OpenNap server.
OpenNAP clients
- Lopster (GPL, for Unix-like systems, Gtk)
- XNap (GPL for Unix-like systems, Java)
- Teknap
- Napster for BeOS versions 1.06 and above.
- SunshineUN for Windows (Win32) systems (requires program such as Napigator for finding servers)
