Ohio Impromptu
|
Ohio Impromptu is a monologue/play by Samuel Beckett.
Two characters, a Reader and a Listener look almost identical (it may be that these are the same person), with one reading from a small book, possibly a diary of events past, and the listener, never speaking, prompting the reader with a knocking on the table.
In the Beckett on Film project, modern technology allowed Reader and Listener to be played by the same person, in this case Jeremy Irons.
