Nyagan is a town in Western Siberia, Russia; near the Ob River, approximately 600 km north-east of Perm. Population 70,100 (as of 2004).
It was established in 1967 as a forestry centre, now it is principally a centre of the petroleum and natural gas industries.
This city is the birthplace of tennis star, Maria Sharapova (winner of the ladies singles, Wimbledon 2004).
Nyagan has the best hospital center in Tyumen region.
