Norman Kemp Smith
|
Norman Kemp Smith (1872-1958) was a philosopher who lectured at Princeton and was Professor of Logic and Metaphysics in the University of Edinburgh. He is best-known for his influential English translation of Immanuel Kant's Critique of Pure Reason, which is often used as the standard English version of the text, and is considered by many to be the most readable rendering of the work. His commentaries on the Critique are also well regarded, as are his works on David Hume and other philosophers.
