Nishiibaraki District, Ibaraki

Nishiibaraki (西茨城郡; -gun), literally west Ibaraki, is a district located in Ibaraki, Japan.
Following the Shirosato merger but as of 2003 population data, the district has an estimated population of 74,623 and a density of 381 persons per km². The total area is 195.80 km².
Towns and villages
Mergers
On February 1, 2005 the village of Nanakai merged with the town of Johoku and village of Katsura (both from Higashiibaraki District), forming the town of Shirosato.
