New York Knights
|
The New York Knights were an American football team which played in the Arena Football League during the 1988 season only. They played their home games at Madison Square Garden. Perhaps their failure to win any games played there was a major factor in ensuring that there would be no subsequent seasons of Knights games there or elsewhere. After going 2-10 overall in their only campaign the team folded. The league was to go several years before attempting to re-enter the nation's largest media market.
The New York Knights were also the fictional baseball team that employed Roy Hobbs, the hero of Bernard Malamud's novel The Natural.
