In the 1940 federal election, W. Garfield Case, who listed ‘Insurance manager’ as his profession, unsuccessfully sought election in Grey North riding in Ontario as a National Liberal Progressive candidate. He won 2,434 votes, 15.5% of the popular vote. The election was won by the Liberal Party candidate.
