National Inventors Hall of Fame

The National Inventors Hall of Fame is an organization that honors important inventors from the United States. It has a museum in Akron, Ohio, and an annual induction ceremony. Inductees are chosen by a national panel of inventors and scientists. There are satellite offices in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.
It is a non-profit organization founded in 1973 by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and the National Council of Intellectual Property Law Associations.
As of 2005 there were 221 inductees.
