National Advisory Council

The National Advisory Council of India was setup on June 4, 2004 to monitor the implementation of the United Progressive Alliance's Common Minimum Programme. The Common Minimum Programme has been designated as a Government Scheme.
Congress leader Sonia Gandhi is the chairperson, with the status of a cabinet minister. The other members of this council will be from the allies of the Congress-led Government.
The funds for the functioning of this council will be provided from the budgetary allocation for the Prime Minister's Office.
