Nanaimo—Alberni is the name of a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada. Its population is 112,972. (2001)
Geography
The district includes Lasqueti Island, the Regional District of Alberni-Clayoqout, and all of the Regional District of Nanaimo except the extreme southeastern part, including but the extreme northern part of Nanaimo.
The southern part of Nanaimo belongs to the Nanaimo—Cowichan electoral district.
History
The electoral district was created in 1996 from the ridings of Comox—Albernia and Nanaimo—Cowichan.
