Muritai School
|
Established in 1897, Muritai School is state school teaching children from year 1 through to year 8. It is situated in the town of Eastbourne on the eastern side of Wellington Harbour, opposite the city of Wellington, New Zealand. It has a roll of slightly more than 400 students and approximately 35 staff. The school is classed as a decile 10 school due to the relative affluence of the Eastbourne community. Its high decile rating means the school receives less government funding in comparason to lower decile state schools. However, the school maintains a low student: staff ratio due to extra money collected from the voluntary school donation and activities fee.
