MovementWriting

MovementWriting or the International Movement-Writing Alphabet is a movement notation system devised by Valerie Sutton. MovementWriting uses a lagre lexis of figurative and abstract symbols and has five sub sections:
- DanceWriting: a form of Dance notation and DanceWriting Shorthand: a subset of DanceWriting.
- SignWriting: a sign language notation.
- MimeWriting: Mime notation.
- SportsWriting: Gymnastics, Ice skating, Karate (etc) notation.
- ScienceWriting: physical therapy, body language, animal movements (etc) notation.
DanceWriting and SignWriting are the most used of the five sub sections and were both invented in 1974.
