Mother Confessor

In the Sword of Truth fantasy series, the Mother Confessor, recognized by long hair (a symbol of status) and a distinctive dress, is the leader of her race, the Confessors. As the Confessors themselves give their leader power, the Mother Confessor is the most powerful of her people. As this race also rules their land by means of working with a council, the Mother Confessor rules the entire Midlands by ruling the council that, in turn, governs the Midlands. Her dress is made of the same material and design as all of her race, with the distiction that hers is white, rather than the typical black. The first Mother Confessor was named Magda Searus. The Mother Confessor in the time frame of the Sword of Truth series is Kahlan Amnell.
