Monaro Highway

The Monaro Highway is a State highway in both New South Wales and Victoria, Australia. The Victorian section was formerly unsealed and called Cann Valley Highway. Upon sealing, it became an of the extension Monaro Highway.
The Monaro highway is located in the south-eastern part of the state. It traverses the Monaro region, hence the name. It starts at Canberra and runs south past Michelago and Bredbo to Cooma. It continues to Bombala and beyond crossing the Victorian border until it meets Princes Highway. The Monaro highway is roughly 200 kilometers long and forms past of the main road route from Sydney to the Snowy Mountains. It is also an important freight route between Victoria's Gippsland region and Canberra.
