Misty Mountain Hop
|
"Misty Mountain Hop" is a song from Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album. In the US and Australia it was the B-side of the "Black Dog" single, but still received considerable FM radio airplay.
It mentions getting stoned in the park, and leaving to go to the Misty Mountains ("where the spirits fly"), which seems to be a reference to The Hobbit.
The song itself is a medium tempo rocker notable for the presence of a number of extensively layered guitar and keyboard parts, which make it solidly melodic rather than heavy like "Black Dog" and "Rock And Roll".
