cDVD or MiniDVD (Mini DVD or miniDVD) is an 8cm diameter disc. In normal recording it holds 30 minutes of video (standard or DVD quality) or 1.4GBs of data. Under SLP mode it can hold 120 minutes of video (less than DVD or VHS quality). It was developed for use in camcorders, but just like its full-sized 12cm brother, it can be played back in most DVD-players.
The format is also known as a video-single, or DVD single, being analogous to the CD single (miniCD), in being a singles format for music videos.
mini-DVD
mini-DVD was also used to describe a type of CD that contained DVD data written onto it. mini-DVD discs used DVD-formatting on a CD, with all the features of the DVD format except for the physical disc itself.(see the links below referring to the 'former miniDVD').
