The McLaren Group is a group of companies, created by Ron Dennis, centered around the Team McLaren racing team and Formula One constructor. It includes:
- McLaren Racing, the company behind the Team McLaren Formula One constructor
- McLaren Cars, company which has produced small volumes of the McLaren F1 road car and currently makes the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren in conjunction with DaimlerChrysler
- McLaren Electronic Systems
- McLaren Marketing
- McLaren Composites
- Absolute Taste, caterer to Team McLaren
- Lydden Circuit, which manages a racetrack of the same name near Dover, United Kingdom.
- McLaren Applied Technologies, which develops commercial applications for the Group's technologies and provides a internal resource for facilities and expertise.
Since 1995, DaimlerChrysler (at the time Daimler-Benz) has supplied engines to the McLaren Formula One team under the Mercedes-Benz brand. In January 2000, DaimlerChrysler bought a 40% share of the Group, with Ron Dennis and the TAG Group each owning a 30% share [1] (http://www.daimlerchrysler.com/dccom/0,,0-5-7153-1-9833-1-0-0-0-0-0-8-7145-0-0-0-0-0-0-1,00.html).
The Group is based at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, United Kingdom.
