Matthew Stajan (born December 19, 1983 in Mississauga, Ontario) is a professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League, currently a center with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Drafted 79th overall by Belleville in the 2000 OHL priority selection, he was selected by the Maple Leafs in the 2nd Round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
At the age of 20, he was able to make the Maple Leafs roster. He scored in his first NHL game against the Ottawa Senators. In his first NHL season, he achieved 14 goals, 13 assists, a plus 7 rating while averaging 11 minutes per game.
While the 2004-2005 NHL season is being locked out, Matt is playing for the St. John's Maple Leafs, the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
