M97 shotgun
|
The M97, a shotgun designed by John Browning was an evolution of the Winchester M93. It was first issued to US troops during World War I as a trench gun. Its 5 shotshell magazine permitted to lay a considerable volume of fire in a very short time, making it a very efficient trench warfare weapon.
It was still used in limited numbers during World War II by the United States Army and Marine Corps.
