Mämmilä was a full-page comic strip by Finnish cartoonist Tarmo Koivisto.
Mämmilä is a fictional small town, supposedly in the Häme region, and was originally modeled on the town of Orivesi. The cartoon depicted various contemporary issues in Finnish life, from various social changes to the coming of African refugees and membership in the European Union. The town has numerous colorful characters, from local political leaders and potentates to Varpu Viljanen (local dowser) and Mohammed al-Zomal (Somalian refugee).
In 2002, Tarmo Koivisto published a graphic novel WWW.MAMMILA.FI in which the Internet and shady business practices come to Mämmilä.
