LugRadio is a UK-based internet radio programme aimed at fans of Linux and open source software. It is made by four Linux users: Jono Bacon, Stuart Langridge, Ade Bradshaw and Matthew Revell.
A new episode is published on Monday on a fortnightly schedule, and is available in Ogg Vorbis and MP3 formats. An RSS podcast feed can be found at http://www.lugradio.org/episodes.rss
The show gets between 6,000 and 15,000 downloads per episode, depending on who the main interview guest is. A community of voluntary mirrors take the majority of the transfer strain and is one of the many examples of community involvement that have strengthened the show.
LugRadio Live, a conference and social gathering, will be held in Wolverhampton on 25th June 2005, featuring:
- Ubuntu Linux's founder Mark Shuttleworth
- Linspire President and CEO Kevin Carmony
- Freelance tech journalist Bill Thompson
and many others.
