Lost in Space (movie)
|
In 1998, New Line Cinema produced a feature-length motion picture adaptation of the 1965-68 CBS televison series Lost In Space. The main characters were played by William Hurt, Mimi Rogers, Heather Graham, Matt LeBlanc, Gary Oldman, and Lacey Chabert.
Lavish special effects were incorporated, with a storyline that was similar to the more dramatic early episodes of the TV series and not much like the colorful, fanciful episodes that dominated the TV series' second and third seasons. While the movie was marginally successful, audience reaction was mixed and box office results were insufficient to justify a planned sequel.
