The Hershey Foods Corporation manufactures firstly three varieties of chocolate:
Hershey Bars
- Hershey's Milk Chocolate, what many people think of as just "plain" or "normal" Hershey's chocolate. Due to its almost universal availability it is used by many as a standard with which to compare other chocolates and chocolate products.
- Hershey's Special Dark, a bittersweet chocolate is mildly sweet, as it contains less sugar than other forms. It contains considerably more cocoa butter than other dark chocolates manufactured by other companies.
- Hershey's Symphony contains less sugar and is creamier than "normal" Hershey's chocolate. There is a considerable difference in the taste, but the ingredients lists of it and its normal counterpart are identical; in America it is mandated that ingredients only be listed in their order of total makeup. Quantities are not listed, so one can not know for sure how greatly the proportions differ in Hershey's Symphony.
The Hershey Foods Corporation also manufactures a wide variety of other candy products, which do not necessarily contain chocolate:
- Almond Joy and Mounds candy bars, which are chocolate-coated bars containing a coconut based mixture on the inside, one difference between them being that Almond Joy contains almonds, whereas Mounds does not.
- The 5th Avenue (candy) candy bar, which contains a peanut-based mixture.
- Good & Plenty, white and purplish-red pill shaped licorice candies. They are chewy, similar to Mike And Ike candy.
- The Heath Bar, which contains toffee.
- Hershey's Kisses, of course.
- Jolly Rancher hard fruit candy.
- Milk Duds, small bits of caramel covered in milk chocolate that melts especially easy. Milk Duds are commonly sold in American movie theaters as a snack.
- The Payday candy bar, which also contains peanuts.
- Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, possibly one of the most well known products due to long-running massive advertising campaigns.
- Reese's Pieces are small peanut butter candies.
- Hershey's S'mores is a s'more in candy bar form
- Twizzlers, heavily processed artificially-flavored licorice sticks. This includes the important Twizzlers Pull And Peel variety, in which the sticks are composed of semi-distinct smaller twisted rods of twizzlism, which can be easily pulled apart.
- Whoppers, which are malted milk balls.
- The York Peppermint Pattie.
- Take 5, a candy bar with pretzels, caramel, peanuts, peanut butter and chocolate.
In addition, Cadbury-branded products sold in the US are manufactured by Hershey's.
