The Swiss Alps are the central portion of the Alps mountain range that lies within Switzerland.

- with chief peaks and moutain passes from Lake Geneva to the Furka, the Reuss Valley and Lake Lucerne;

- from the Simplon to the Splügen and south of the Furka and Oberalp Passes; from the St Gotthard Pass to the Splugen, is sometimes named the Adula Alps;

- from the Oberalp Pass to the Klausen Pass;

- from the Splügen Pass to the Flüela Pass, north and west of the Val Bregaglia and of the Engadine;
