Linn Products is a Glasgow-based company that makes hi-fi, home theater and multi-room audio systems. It was started by Ivor Tiefenbrun who introduced Linn's first product, the Sondek LP12, in the early 1970s. The LP12 quickly gathered a fanatical following that contiunues to this day. Before the LP12, the speaker was considered the most important part of a hi-fi system. Tiefenbrun championed the "garbage in, garbage out" philosophy which said that one must first start with a high quality source. Linn has grown to become one of the biggest players in high-end audio. It is still based in Scotland and has a music publishing side too, Linn Records.
