In Finnish mythology, Lemminkäinen is the god of magic. He is the son of Ilmatar, and brother of Väinämöinen and Ilmarinen. Lemminkäinen is good looking, yellow wavy haired, and young.
Lemminkäinen holds the magical sampo. He is associated with water; in one myth he drowns in the river of Tuonela (the underworld) in trying to capture the black swan that lives there, only for his mother to restore him to life, while in another he lives in an underwater castle. Some sources say that he and Ahti are the same deity.
