Lawrence Bell

Lawrence D. Bell (aka Larry Bell) (1894 - 1956) was born in Indiana. He left high school at age 16 and went to work for the Glenn L. Martin Company. Eventually, Bell became a vice president at Consolidated in Buffalo, New York. When Consolidated moved to San Diego, California in 1935, Bell founded Bell Aircraft Corporation, which went on to produce a number of innovative aircraft.
