Lander University

Lander University is the smallest publicly-funded 4-year institution of higher learning in South Carolina. It was founded in 1872 as Williamston Female College in Williamston, South Carolina. The college moved to Greenwood, South Carolina in 1904 and was renamed Lander College in honor of Samuel Lander, its founder. Lander is now a coeducational university.
