Krishna Singh
|
Krishna Singh (also known as Kishen Singh) was the brother of Nain Singh, and like him an important pundit.
Singh's last and greatest voyage commenced in 1878. He followed the northern trade route from Lhasa to Chinese Turkestan and China. He followed the route all the way to Dunhuang, and on his way back explored the eastern Tibet border region. At one point the caravan leader wanted the caravan to go by horse to cross a bandit-ridden area faster. Krishna, unable to count his steps during this period, measured the distance (230 miles) by counting his horse's steps instead.
