The Koenigsegg CC8S is an automobile made by Koenigsegg. It is a sports car and a supercar with a MR drivetrain layout.
It is currently the fastest street-legal car in production, with a claimed top speed of 390 km/h (240 mph) and an acceleration that takes it up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3.5 seconds. The CC8S's body and chassis are made of carbon fiber, reinforced with Kevlar and aluminum honeycomb. It is the current record holder in the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest production car, bumping the McLaren F1 out of the record books.
The Koenigsegg developed suspension system, modeled from Formula One racing, has been judged by expert test-drivers to provide better handling than any competing supercar. Its supercharged engine delivers 655 bhp (488 kW) and 750 N·m (553 ft·lbf) of torque.
A hardtop roof-panel, which can be removed and stored under the front hood, covers the luxurious interior. The leather and aluminum fitted cabin incorporates all the top equipment for comfort and security.
Koenigsegg also make the Koenigsegg CCR, an even faster variant.
