Knivsta Municipality

Knivsta is a municipality in Uppsala County, in central Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 283 km². Of the total population of 12 586, 6 317 are male, and 6 269 are female. The population density of the community is 45 inhabitants per km².
Until 1971 Knivsta was a municipality in Stockholm County, when it was merged into Uppsala Municipality and was subsequently belonged to Uppsala County. On January 1, 2003 Knivsta was separated from Uppsala to once again form a separate municipality.
Knivsta is known for its Judo Club, and it's one of the most practiced sports among teenagers.
