Kinship group
|
A Kinship Group is a collection of people based on a relationship of common ancestry: blood, marriage, adoption, and or affliation such as god-parents and so on. Common kinship groups include clans, sibs, the moiety, descent groups, the family, the nuclear family, and the extended family.
Fictitive kinship is that based on placing unrelated people in the role of kin, such as god-parents.
