Kaustinen (Kaustby in Swedish) is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 4,432 (2003) and covers an area of 362.02 kmē of which 7.94 kmē is water. The population density is 12.2 inhabitants per kmē.
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
It is the home to the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, held every July.
