Karsk
|
Karsk is a cocktail made of moonshine and coffee. It's a traditional Norwegian drink which is most popular in the counties of Trøndelag and further north. It also exists in Sweden where it is called kask.
Karsk is usually mixed 50/50, but sometimes stronger (more moonshine). A traditional recipe is to put a copper - coin at the bottom of the cup, pour coffee until it can't be seen and then pour in moonshine until the coin can be seen again.
In many rural areas of Norway it is tradition to sell half full cups of coffe at festivals and concerts where people are excpected to bring their own moonshine to mix with it.
