Joseph Erlanger (*January 5, 1874 in San Francisco, California; †December 5, 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri) was a U.S. physiologist. He won a Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology in 1944 for the discovery of different types of nerve fibres.
