John Grigg (writer)

John Edward Poynder Grigg (April 15, 1924 - December 31, 2001) was a British writer, historian and politician. He was the 2nd Baron Altrincham from 1955 until he disclaimed that title under the Peerage Act on the day it received the Royal Assent in 1963. He stood for parliament several times as a Conservative, but left that party for the SDP in 1982.
