Joe Hall

Joe Hall (May 3, 1882 - April 5, 1919), nicknamed Bad Joe Hall, was a professional ice hockey defenceman.
Born Joseph Henry Hall in Staffordshire, England, United Kingdom. He played for the Montreal Canadiens in their first two seasons in the National Hockey League from 1917-1919. He previously played in the Manitoba Hockey League and for the National Hockey Association.
During the 1918-19 Stanley Cup Finals, the Spanish Flu influenza hit both the Canadiens and their opponents, the Seattle Metropolitans, and Hall eventually succumbed while in the hospital in Seattle, Washington, four days after the Stanley Cup Final series was abandoned. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961.
