Jill Sobule (born January 1961) is an American singer-songwriter best known for her first hit, "I Kissed a Girl" (which concerns lesbianism), and the Clueless soundtrack hit "Supermodel". She was born in Denver and debuted in 1990, working with Todd Rundgren. Her breakthrough didn't come until 1995, with the release of "I Kissed a Girl". Its follow-up album, Happy Town, was a critical success but commercial failure. She then began working with Lloyd Cole and signed a new contract in 2000 with Beyond, releasing Pink Pearl that year.
