James Gould Cozzens

James Gould Cozzens (1903 August 19 - 1978) was a Pulitzer Prize-winning U.S. novelist.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Cozzens won a 1936 O. Henry Award for his short story "Total Stranger" published in the Saturday Evening Post on February 15, 1936.
He wrote the novels Ask Me Tomorrow in 1940, The Just and the Unjust in 1942, Guard of Honor in 1948 (winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1949), and By Love Possessed in 1958.
