James Coco (March 21, 1930 - February 25, 1987) was an American character actor.
Coco was born in New York City, and achieved prominence in theater, both on and off Broadway, before going on to star in a number of movies and TV shows.
He was one of the few actors to be nominated for both an Oscar and a Razzie Award for the same performance: As Marsha Mason's gay best friend in Only When I Laugh, Coco got nods for both Best and Worst Supporting Actor. He did not win either award.
In later years, he became well known as a chef, publishing successful cook books and demonstrating recipes on TV shows.
Coco's last film was 1989's The Chair. He died in New York City of a heart attack at the age of only 56.
